How to prepare for the game
##html
What to think beforehand
- Players are to make all their weapon-, cyber-, bionics- etc.
props by themselves. Any equipment that is listed on the
character sheet is lost if the player has not properly propped
it. Even if the player makes a good looking prop of something
not allowed for the character, he will not be able to use it in
the game.
- The gaming area is a fairly small car ferry, so the facilities
are relatively good. There will be water, bathrooms, restaurants,
and electricity. However all characters are not wealthy enough to
have a cabin or bed for themselves. If you feel low class
prepare for indoor camping.
- The GMs urge you to mark all your things so that we can
minimize losses.
- It is a good idea to be there in time. Once the ship has taken
off it is inconvenient to try to swim to it as the ship is fairly
fast.
- Pack you weaponry in such a fashion that local mundane
law-enforcers do not feel encouraged to arrest/shoot you.
- This is a tax-free cruise, so you are allowed to purchase and
take with you cigarettes, alcohol etc. Reserve money for
possible shopping.
Equipment - what to take
- Everyone is to have a clock with them, preferably a wristwatch.
- Take only such weapons that surely will be accepted by GMs. For
example, if you have modified your soft-air weapon to be too
powerful you will not be allowed to use it in the game. All
weapons will be checked and marked. If the marking is removed
the weapon is in-game broken, and can be fixed by getting it
approved again.
- Everyone has to have eye-protection. If you are not sure of
your glasses take an extra pair with you. They will be tested
under rifle fire. Note that your glasses must also shield your
eyes from the sides, so that even a ricochet cannot reach you
eye.
- Take your character, and any extras that came with it (e.g. gun
permit).
Equipment - what NOT to take
- Ammunition (6mm plastic) of any kind (Real ammunition is
ofcourse right out).
Player categorizing
Every PLAYER (not the character) will have two statistics printed on his
ID badge. The players may choose their level of simulation freely,
except that the ranking "HC" can only be acquired by requesting it from
the head GMs.
There is a ranking both in psycological and physical simulation. These
are fully separate. The levels of simulation are as follows:
Physical
- A
- People may not touch you beyond shaking hands. All close combat is
resolved by stone-scissors-paper -method.
- B
- You may be pushed a little, or someone may drag you along from your
arm. Any harsher action will be simply dictated ("Now I kick
you down the stairs"). Melee will be acted out in slow-motion
with care and hardly any contact.
- C
- You may be treated roughly. Your hands may be pinned behind your
back. You may be tied with a rope in fairly tight fashion.
Things may done to you as long as you're not hurt.
Melee combat is acted in fairly slow motion and with light
contact.
- HC
- People may hurt you as long as they do no damage. A mob may kick
you while you are on the ground. You may be dragged along
floors, by a foot. If you not sure, don't request this status.
Melee is resolved by full-speed sparring with light contact.
Psycological
- A
- You may not be harassed in any way. You may not be threathened
severely or put in a dark place. You may not be sexually
harassed beyond normal street language.
- B
- You may be treathened and seduced, but without physical caresses.
People may stick guns (with glasses on) in your face
and lock you up.
- C
- You may find yourself in dark noisy places with your hands and
feet tied. You may be sexually harassed as long as you feel it suits the
game. People of both sexes may make fairly intimate passes at you.
- HC
- People may do "things" to you. Practically anything is allowed as
long as you don't say "off-game, we're not doing THAT".
Off-game SECURITY, MEMORIZE
- It is NOT allowed to pick up any used ammunition. Once fired pellets
are dangerous to people and weapons.
- You are not to use any weaponry that have not been marked and checked
by GMs.
- All players have to use protective eyewear at all times, when outside
special non-combat zones.
- All players are to wear their ID patches at ALL times, so that they
SHOW. If your character disguises, you may cover the characters name,
but ONLY that.
- THE GM:S ARE GODS. THERE IS NO ARGUING WITH THE WORD OF THE GM:S. This
should be clear without saying.
- There will be "Order persons" around. They are in charge of order and
safety. Opposing an Order Person in an Off-Game situation is the same as
opposing a law-enforcement officer. The words "Order Person" are
restricted for strictly OFF-GAME USE ONLY. Under no circumstances should
anyone use the term "Order Person" in game. If there is any kind of
off-game emergency you are to call an Order Person to the scene. You
will recognize "Order persons" from the white ribbon around their left
arm. It is approx. 10 cm wide and it says "Jarjestysmies".
- The laws of Finland apply throughout the game. They overrule any
in-game laws.
- Only registered players will be let into the happening. Taking others
with you is a waste of their effort.
- It is strongly discouraged to jump off-ship. There is no guarantee that
we will be able to fish you back in, ever.
- Not the players, nor their belongings have been insured by the GMs. All
players are in charge of them selves and their belongings.
- The GMs are not to be held responsible for any action whatsoever of any
players.
- You are allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, as long as you do not
disturb the game. However, if you exeed 0.05% you will automatically lose
all close combat. This means that it is perfectly OK if you need to have
one beer on dinner.
- Any other intoxicating (off-game) materials than tobacco and alcohol
are NOT ALLOWED. Anyone who is caught on illigal substances is
immediately remover from game and will be dealt with harshly.
Little things to know during the game
- If you have a gun permit, keep it with you. Same goes for Trauma-Team
cards.
- Athmosphere is very important in this game. You are to act and dress
according to the world. If you seriously disrupt the game the GMs will
have a word with you. If you are not interested in continuing you will
be put aside somewhere.
- You are expected to be able to speak your in-game languages. If this
seems to present a problem contact the GMs.
- All sleeping in the game happens in-game. If you don't feel safe hire a
bodyguard. However characters are expected to sleep during the game.
- Take as little off-game material as possible, since there is
practically no space reserved for off-game storing.
- After the game we will clean the ship from all our weird gaming
material. After that there is a debrief, and only after that will
players be let out of the ship. Unity is strenght, and no one wants to
pay big bucks for the game because of janitors.
- People coming to the game are expected to act rationally and normally.
Don't leave your common sense at home. Littering, breaking things, and
general disturbing is not allowed. Players acting unreasonably will be
dealt with and have to make up for any possible damages.
- There is a lot of expensive equipment on loan from sponsors and the
GMs. Any damage, even accidental, will result to payment in full.
- In this game it is allowed to aim for the head in combat. However, be
cautious with this.
